March to the Tribal – Official Video

Major Notes is a producer that has been watched closely in the past. Making his own steps into the Funky scene in the Summer/Autumn of 2008, Major Notes has earned himself a reputation of being a respected producer of the movement always making quality music.

Within this production Major Notes has teamed up with Dappa MC, who can usually be found around the cities of Bedford, Milton Keynes, Northampton (to name a few) alongside Twista DJ as seen within the video.

The collaboration cannot be faulted with this track. Dappa as an MC has shown why he is the man with the microphone by applying a catchy lyrical skip to the beat which is effectively just about doing a dance while enjoying oneself in a club.

We showed the behind the scenes footage of the video a month ago and now we see the final cut…..

Major Notes promised us something different as opposed to the usual club shoot, which can be seen as the video shows concept and creativity. Particularly within the scenes of tribal dancers in costume with luminous body paints. These are great!

March to the Tribal is released on 10th January 2011 and can be pre-ordered from here

DJ dubs are also available to order from here

Officially The Hottest By Far!!

This one has been awaited for more than ever…. Having be present at the video shoot the anticipation has been greater than any describable emotion.

The track has been heavily supported by DJ Pioneer on his Kiss FM show, Choice FM, BBC 1Xtra (DJ Target plays it weekly on his Homegrown show) and many other mainstream and pirate stations, so if you’re not already a major fan of this track, where have you been!?

There is a lot of background info about the producers of this track ‘The Fives’ that I would like to share with you, like for instance there are only in fact ‘four’ members within ‘The Fives’ and why they are then called ‘The Fives’, but I’m afraid you’re gonna have to wait for the EXCLUSIVE (yes as in The Fives first EVER) interview they had within the QoS and Parks meets series….. For now, enjoy the video.

Filmed on a rooftop in Peckham and involving a lot of record smashing (slight warning for the vinyl lovers), the retro/indie stlye video is one that has not yet been explored amongst the Funky scene, and it’s always refreshing to see something original…… Go The Fives!!!

What You Want??

Saw this one in production and all I can say about the track is this:

“This track will get in your head and have you humming it for the rest of the day…… CERTIFIED BANGER!!!!”

Agree?? Disagree??

Look out for more from Kosha in the near future (I’m sure half the media will be contacting him after seeing this video), he also has a few more tracks up his sleeve so know that he is far from the expected one trick pony that the Funky scene seems to have gained reputation for……. Kosha is truly really ready for this, really ready for THIS!!

QoS meets Donaeo Prt 2…..

Many had got used to the short time periods between Donaeo’s singles, causing a constant look out for a new banger with every release. Then came release of the album and single both titled Party Hard. As Party Hard took the club scene by storm in many different ways, Donaeo kind of went quiet on the releases front but kept his name present via PAs and features with other musicians.

Then came word of a new single and video shoot As I entered the building, the dancefloor was being prepared and the dancers were all getting their make up applied. Shortly after they entered and took to the dancefloor following instructions of choreography from Lazara Storm who also featured as the main girl in Donaeo’s Devil In A Blue Dress video. These girls were going at it, over and over again, under the heat of the intense lighting.

A while later Donaeo appears taking his place on a carefully located white armchair, dressed very swaggerific as usual. The girls are still in shot and they’re going at it again, over and over…

At this point I decide to check out who else is in the building…

This shoot isn’t like the previous shoots, this shoot has various mediums of media floating around getting their own account of behind the scenes footage. Admittedly, today I’ve shown up to provide some support to Donaeo, Luke Van Boom, Reggie and all the other members of the MyIsh family, but after Donaeo greets me and thanks me for coming, we both agree that it’s time for the dictaphone to make an appearance and for me to do QoS meets Donaeo part 2.
