MA1 in HD

He stormed on to the scene in it’s early days and made a major impact with ‘I’m Right Here‘ when he teamed up with Sophia, then he followed it up with ‘Give It Up‘ when he teamed up with Sim Simi….. DJ/Producer MA1 first featured when he gave us the details of his musical background and his thoughts on the future of the UK Funky scene (read here). Since he has produced heavily favoured instrumentals (Waterfalls, High Definition and Tribes of Africa), done more across seas bookings and teamed up with DJ Supa D for the release of the ‘I Love Funky‘ compilation released on the Rinse FM label. DJ/Producer MA1 is continuously earning and retaining his stripes on the scene.

Here’s the big man talking about what he has been up to himself, including what he thinks about the music scene at the moment and what he has planned for the future:

What’s REALLY Hot!!??

Miss Me (Official Video)

The UK Funky songstress/diva has returned with her follow up video to her follow up single. One thing is puzzling me though….. If the video is a continuation, didn’t she kill her boyfriend at the end of the ‘Go’ video and get arrested?? If this is 6 months later, surely she’d be sitting within a cell…. No??

I’m quite confused…. Did he come back to life or something?? I feel like this is a film sequel that has gone horribly wrong! The previous video was amazing, the impact it left on me when I first watched it was compelling (read here). As a long-term lover of the UK Funky scene, I’m rather disappointed. I presumed Meleka would deliver us with another video that would be the talk of the town for the next 2 weeks…..

Anyways….. Check it out…..

Take It Low!!

This beautiful young lady instantly grabbed the an audience with her vocals that are many years beyond her age as soon as she emerged. Say Yes and UK Funky cover of the Floetry hit was heard in clubs, shops, pubs and of course all over the airwaves. DJ Cameo even proclaimed it better than the original!!!

Shani Cuppcake has continued on to keep her audience engaged, not only with her ability to perform live, a Pass Out freestyle and a powerful A64, but the young lady has also taken herself out of the box labelled ‘I sing other people’s songs’ and shown that she is capable of being an original artist, and she possesses the talent that could keep her around for years.

Working closely with Ill Blu & Princess Nyah is has to be questioned….. Are the other artists on the scene ready for her? Or does Shani Cuppcake need to Take It Low?
